Die Masterarbeit schrieb er 1999 in Kooperation mit der damaligen T-Mobile \u00fcber die Analyse und Verwendung von 3D-Geb\u00e4udedaten. Er begann seinen beruflichen Werdegang als Consultant bei ESRI Deutschland, wechselte 2001 zu infas Geodaten als Leiter Produkt und Projektmanagement und war dort 2005 bis 2012 als Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer und im F\u00fchrungskreis der Schober Information Group t\u00e4tig. 2013 gr\u00fcndete Michael Herter im Auftrag der infas Holding AG die infas 360 GmbH als Anbieter f\u00fcr Location Intelligence und Data Science. 2025 verlie\u00df er einvernehmlich infas nach \u00dcbernahme durch Ipsos, um u.a. die dai AG als erstes unabh\u00e4ngiges und
