  • Marita has started her career with GfK in Germany and has since then accumulated over 20 years of experience in international market research and strategic brand and communication planning.
  • She has been in key client (global) leadership roles in MNCs, including Nestlé, Imperial Tobacco, and has done strategic planning and consulting work for major brands in Germany as well as agencies like Point-Blank International.
  • In early 2012, when Myanmar showed first signs of a democratic transition, Marita took this challenge and teamed up with MSR, the first independent research agency in Myanmar, to help the business entering the Global research landscape.
  • In the past 10 years, Marita has been researching the development of the Consumer Landscape in Myanmar across many categories, saw the digitalization of the country and the impact of Covid. But she also experienced the force of the Military Coup in 2021 on the Myanmar economy, the local research industry and the livelihood of people.
  • Marita is the ESOMAR country representative in Myanmar, and has been responsible for initiating capability building for the Myanmar research industry. She also serves as Vice President for the German Myanmar Business Chamber.
  • She finished her Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Osnabrück, Germany. Her curiosity has taken her to most Asian countries as she loves to explore different (sub-)cultures
